So today was the first day of Phase 2 of the Beachbody Ultimate Reset. This is the RELEASE phase of the program where you start adding the DETOX supplements to your daily regimen three times a day. All meat and dairy has been totally eliminated from the meal plan. The DETOX supplements is a powder that you mix with water. The taste is actually quite pleasant but the texture is pretty nasty. It’s the opposite of the ALKALINIZE supplement which has a terrible taste but OK texture. I won’t even tell you what the appearance of the DETOX supplement reminds me of….either way I just chug it down just like the ALKALINIZE and wash it down it more water. Like Tony Horton says, “No one said this was gonna be EASY!!”
Breakfast today was 2 cups of mixed fruit. I really like fruit for breakfast (and that’s a lot of fruit) but it usually doesn’t keep me feeling full for very long. Like I expected I got hungry pretty early but luckily it was really busy at work so I was distracted enough that I really wasn’t thinking about food. And another monster salad for lunch with homemade creamy garlic dressing and pumpkin seeds. Dinner was brown rice with pinto beans (yum) and steamed zucchini and green beans (more yumminess). Another dinner winner. As expected the period between dinner and bedtime has been the most difficult for me…but as long as I stay busy I’m OK.
I’m not really excited about breakfast tomorrow…miso soup with sliced avocado and chick peas. :-/ But who knows…maybe it will fill me up more so than the fruit so I’m willing to give it the old college try!
