Beachbody just released a video highlighting the new Les Mills PUMP home workout program. Check it out!
I’ll be honest with you, I’m an at-home gym rat, so I’ve never heard of Les Mills or BODYPUMP before. But WOW…I’ve really been missing out!! I think it’s great that Beachbody has partnered up with them since both companies share similar visions of creativity, inspiration, energy and passion.
New Zealand athlete Les Mills and his son Phillip are the co-founders of Les Mills International. The first Les Mills gym was opened in Auckland, NZ in 1968 and BODYPUMP was created in 1990 (under its original name, PUMP).
BODYPUMP is a weight-based group fitness program that is now found in over 70 countries and 10,000 health-clubs and gyms worldwide. Not unlike Turbo workouts, BODYPUMP classes are performed with music and a new BODYPUMP release, consisting of new music and choreography, is developed and released to health clubs and instructors on a set schedule. The focus is towards muscle endurance using many repetitions. If you’re like me and you don’t know much about the Les Mills story yet, I encourage you to visit their website and check it out for yourself, especially the history page.
Now that Les Mills International has teamed up with Beachbody, BODYPUMP fans have the option of doing some of their favorite workout routines in the comfort of their own home. Will the new workout program replace BODYPUMP classes? No way! Is it a good alternative on those days when you just can’t get yourself to the gym? Heck ya!
I’m really looking forward to trying out the new Les Mills PUMP workout program. I just wish it wasn’t being released the same time as P90X2! Choices-choices!
Beachbody should be releasing the program this month (perhaps as early as December 22nd?). If you’d like to be notified as soon as it becomes available please CONTACT ME for more information. I have a feeling there will be a whole new legion of Les Mills fans emerging soon!
