What is the Release Date for Body Beast? (and other Beastly FAQs)

May 31, 2012 By Amanda

So, a couple videos have come out with the preview of Body Beast which is the latest and greatest workout program developed by Beachbody. A lot of people are asking, “What date will Body Beast be released?” along with a bunch of other questions.

I thought I would take a moment to answer some of the more popular questions!

Here we go…

When is Body Beast coming out?

Well, there’s no official release date yet, but word on the street is that Body Beast will be released sometime during the summer of 2012. In addition to the workout program itself, there will be a whole new line of natural supplements that will be launched. These supplements have been specifically designed for mass building programs like Body Beast, but can also be used with any Beachbody program where muscle building is the goal, like P90X, Insanity, Les Mills PUMP and ChaLEAN Extreme.

What equipment do you need?

For Body Beast you will need dumbbells, an EZ Curl Bar with weight plates, a bench (or stability ball) and a Chin-up Bar (or resistance bands with door attachment). Beachbody will introduce an EZ Curl Bar with weight plates and a flat/incline bench with the launch of Body Beast (weight plates are interchangeable with the plates used in the Les Mills PUMP program).

Will there be an option to purchase equipment separately from the program?

Yes, equipment will only be sold separately, and not bundled with the program.

So what are these new supplements that are coming out?

This new line of natural supplements was designed to help you increase strength and power without harmful chemicals.

Here’s the rundown:

1. FUEL SHOT: Get an energy boost and help repair hard worked muscles. This power boost helps reduce workout fatigue by utilizing two carbs: Dextrose and Maltodextrin, so you’ll replenish hard worked muscles quickly and safely.

2. HARDCORE BASE SHAKE: You’ll get 18 grams of whey protein isolate, the highest quality protein available to help maximize new muscle growth and reduce muscle breakdown and fatigue helping you power through the toughest of your Body Beast workouts. I love the fact that the Base Shake is FLAVOR NEUTRAL!! and is also designed to work with Beachbody’s extreme line of supplements which also includes M.A.X. Creatine and Super Suma.

3. M.A.X. CREATINE contains pure creatine monohydrate, the only creatine proven to increase power, strength and definition for high intensity workouts like Body Beast.

4. SUPER SUMA helps enhance the bodies own testosterone production and protein synthesis for faster muscle growth. Hmmmm, I don’t think I’ll be taking that one!! 🙂

How long is the program?

Body Beast is a 90-day program. After 90 days, you may continue with the program to keep Beasting Up!

What is a Beast?

Being a BEAST is about finding your purpose. When you have purpose, you have more strength, power, ability, and tools with which to tackle everyday life. When you believe in your purpose, nothing can stand in your way.

Sounds like a good thing, right?

Are you going to do Body Beast?

I’ll be honest, when I first saw the trailer for this program my first thought was, “Well there’s a program I won’t be doing!” But the more I think about it, the more I want to do it. I mean, c’mon…the program only lasts for 90 days. Sure, a lot can happen in 90 days but people really underestimate the time and effort it takes to “bulk up”. And especially since I’m a woman I don’t see myself getting massively huge with this program in only 90 days. If anything else I think I could benefit from a bit more muscle and would love to prove to the naysayers and worry-warts that women really can benefit from this program and strength training in general. My only concern is how I would incorporate this program into my usual running routine. I’ll be doing LesMills PUMP this summer while I train for my half-marathon, so maybe it’s something I’ll keep thinking about.

Some people are asking, Should women do Body Beast? And really, the simple answer is that women can do any workout program they want! Who knows, maybe this winter I’ll put together a “Body Beast for Women” challenge group! 🙂

In the meantime, be sure to create a free acccount on TeamBeachbody.com. It won’t cost you a dime, and as a TBB member, you’ll be able to order Body Beast before anyone else!
