The 3-Day REFRESH is a new nutritional program from Beachbody that was launched during Summit 2014. It was designed to help cleanse your body and improve the way you feel without starving yourself in only 72 hours.
And you can eat REAL food! YAY!
This program is a GREAT example of how Beachbody pays very close attention to what us coaches are doing out here “in the real world” and responds whenever there’s a problem or concern. A lot of coaches were doing 3-Day Shakeology cleanses on their own and like me, the co-creator of Shakeology, Isabelle Daikeler, didn’t really think that was a good idea!
Why? Because Shakeology wasn’t designed to be part of a 3x per day cleanse system!
So Beachbody responded accordingly and now we have a MUCH better program to share with others!

I’ve honestly never been a huge fan of juice fasts or liquid diets so once again I’m glad that me and Beachbody are totally on the same page! And for those of you that are familiar with the 21-Day Ultimate Reset the 3-Day Refresh is very similar but less intense so to speak! If the 21-Day Reset is a marathon the 3-Day Refresh is a 5K!

Personally, I won’t be encouraging people to do the 3-Day Refresh because they want to “lose weight fast”. What I’m going to emphasize to anyone doing this program is that the MAIN focus here is having a clean slate and getting back on track or getting a jump-start on a more long-term program.
Yes, it IS possible that you can lose SOME fat with this program and that’s GREAT! But the MAJORITY of weight loss is going to be from water weight and whatever you have sitting around in your colon before you start! Of course this is going to vary greatly from person to person.
Beachbody is a weight loss company so I totally get that the number of pounds lost is usually a big talking point. But I would encourage other coaches to stress the importance that the scale is NOT the main indicator of health or progress. It’s also important to note that the people who are going to lose the most weight with this (and any other) program are men and those that have a high percentage of body fat.
It reminds me of a quote I saw recently, “If you focus on RESULTS you will never change. If you focus on CHANGE you will get results.”
OK, so now that my weight loss rant is over, let’s get to the fun stuff!!
What do I get to eat and drink?!?
Basically, the 3-Day Refresh consists of three daily shakes (Shakeology + Vanilla Fresh), a fiber drink (Fiber Sweep), plenty of filtered water, along with fresh fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats throughout the day to keep your energy and metabolism going. You can do mild to moderate exercise during the Refresh but nothing too extreme.
What about coffee?
The program guide states, “Although it is not a requirement, to get the full benefit of the 3-Day Refresh, we suggest that you refrain from drinking coffee for the three days of the program. If you choose to do so, we strongly recommend that you NOT add milk, sugar, or unnatural sugar substitutes to your coffee.”
When is the best day to start?
That kinda depends. Some people are starting on Friday so they can be home for the majority of the time and stay focused, while others start on Monday or Wednesday to avoid temptations that often come along during the weekend. Basically, it’s your call. The main thing is that you do it when you can commit 100% to the program and not get distracted. I plan on starting on a Friday, so I’ll let you know how it goes!

How often can you do it?
Again, it’s pretty much your call! You can do it whenever you feel like you need a kick-start or as a monthly tune-up. Another option is to do it once every four months, along with the Ultimate Reset once or twice a year for the “Ultimate Year of Health”.
