So…everyone is wondering what the BIG secret is to becoming a successful Beachbody coach. There’s has to be some super-secret social media tip that you haven’t heard of yet that will FINALLY give you the answer you’ve been looking for, right?!? I mean after all, you’ve tried EVERYTHING so far! You’ve watched all the YouTube videos, you’ve done all the training in the back office, and you’ve followed your upline’s directions to a ‘T’. But something still seems to be missing.
BTW if you would rather watch a video instead of reading through my rather long-winded explanation, just scroll down to the very end of this post! 🙂
What is it???
Here’s the good news: If you want to experience ANY level of success with your Beachbody business you don’t need a lot of skills. YES, there are a few basic skills that you need to learn, but that’s just a tiny piece of the puzzle. If skills are what you’re after, check out the book GoPro by Eric Worre.
What it does take is a A LOT of belief and determination. I would say it works out to be about 45% BELIEF 45% DETERMINATION and 10% SKILL. If you have the belief and determination NOTHING will stop you from learning the skills you need to improve.
I’m a shy introvert and am still VERY insecure when it comes to speaking due to a stuttering problem I developed in first grade. That’s just who I am. Do I sound like the perfect match for a network marketing business? Um…NO! But once I saw the value of Beachbody I made the commitment not to let it stand in my way. I’m working on building my confidence in this area everday so I can be a better leader for my teammates and clients (I don’t like calling them customers!).
There is not ONE person alive who doesn’t deal with some type of insecurity. EVERYONE will have a different excuse as to why they believe they can’t do this. But you have to get over yourself and your excuses and just figure it out. It’s going to take A LOT of personal development. You might not need to do any personal development at your current job, but when you decide to become the CEO of your own company and lead other people, you better be ready to make some changes. Your business will eventually plateau the same way your body does when you keep doing the same workout routine over and over again. Your business grows at the same rate as your personal development.
My teammate Robyn says, “It takes a lot of giving to give, and you can’t give what you are not filled up with!”
I think that makes a lot of sense! Are you starting to understand now why personal development is one of the most important things you do as a COACH? Not only for yourself, but also for the people that you’ve been called to serve.
When I first became a coach I didn’t think I needed any of that personal development stuff. All I wanted were the “action steps”! Gimme the steps to success! But I learned pretty quickly that personal development is NOT an option.
Former Coach of the Year Wayne Wyatt said something at the Success Club conference in Disney World that stuck in my head. He said, “When most new coaches start the business they ask “What do I need to DO?” But a better question is, “Who do I need to BE?”
That’s pretty powerful stuff!
I also remembering listening to a conference call where the coach on the line was comparing Beachbody coaching to a track race. You know how when you look at runners who are lined up on the track it appears that some are farther ahead? This is because the starting lines are staggered due to the fact that the inside lanes are shorter than the outside lanes. If you don’t take the time to look a little closer, it can be very deceiving!
Same thing with coaching! It may look like some coaches have an advantage over other coaches but we all start from the same place even though our strenths and weaknesses are different.
Some people believe in the business 100% but the belief they have in themselves is almost non-existent. This is going to be a big problem! They are always going to come up with some excuse as to why it’s OK for them to fail and other coaches to have success, “Oh, she was able to do that because of XYZ and I could never do that because of XYZ” or whatever.
This is not the proper mindset!
Read some books, listen to some audios, watch some videos and come back to the business of helping others when you are ready to get rid of your excuses.
Take a look at some of the coaches out there that are improving their lives by sharing this business and Beachbody products with others. They are quitting their full-time jobs, spending more time with family, taking trips, paying off their mortgage, building dream-homes, donating money to charity, etc.
You need to believe in this opportunity because it is HUGE! The problem is not the cost of Shakeology, the problem is not your upline, the problem is not Beachbody selling products on Amazon and stealing your customers…or whatever else you think the problem is.
The problem is YOU.
If the problem was any of those other things there would be no new names to announce for rank advancements on the National Wakeup Call every week. I mean seriously…just recently there were 856 rank advancements and 147 new Diamonds. Why not YOU?!?
How do you get that belief if you don’t have it?
1. Watch, learn, and study other coaches that are where you want to be. But don’t compare yourself to them! The point is NOT to copy what they do and transform into someone else, but to learn how each person is unique and how they have used that to build their business. You can find out who the leaders are by getting on the National Wakeup Call, attending local events, attending Summit, and paying attention to social media. Once you see what other people are doing with their business it will make you believe in yourself more.
Know that you are NOT alone in your struggles…EVERYONE has them!! Look at where these coaches were 1-3 years ago and where they are now. There is no reason why you can’t do the same thing.
2. If you are surrounding yourself with negative coaches who do nothing but whine and complain, you need to remove yourself from that environment as quickly and quietly as you can!!
OK so, this is the most important thing right here!!
** You can only give what you already have, and you can only give to others what you truly BELIEVE. This business and the products are a GIFT that you give to others, but only if they are ready to accept the gift. You will find that MANY are not ready. That’s OK. Just keep going. Your job is not to push them. YOUR JOB IS TO STILL BE THERE WHEN THEY FINALLY DECIDE IT’S TIME. **
And if YOU don’t truly believe 100% that you can reach a certain goal (either with fitness or the business) how can you expect others to do the same?? How can you motivate and inspire someone else to reach their goals if you don’t believe it’s possible to do it yourself? You don’t need to have a six-pack or to be a Top Ten Coach…but the BELIEF that it can be done needs to exist!!
The secret sauce of Beachbody coaching is a steadfast belief in yourself, the business, the products, and the determination to NEVER give up or quit. If one of those ingredients is missing you will always carry around a feeling of discontent.
Do you lack self-confidence?
I think we can always use a little help in this area. Watch the video below and you’ll learn that you can develop self-confidence just like any other skill. Don’t forget–-if you have the belief and determination NOTHING will stop you from learning the skills you need to improve.
After you watch the video I want you to write a “brag sheet” or a letter to yourself as described by Dr. Ivan Joseph. What were some of the things that you wrote down? I would love to read whatever you’re willing to share in the comments section below!
