Is it OK to Drink Shakeology While Pregnant?

February 11, 2011 By Amanda

One question I get asked sometimes about Shakeology is, “Is it OK to drink if you’re pregnant or nursing?” Really, this a question that you need to ask your doctor! Your medical provider is most familiar with your individual needs as well as any supplements you are taking and whether or not they will affect how your body handles the different ingredients and nutrients in Shakeology.

One particular thing to take note of is Vitamin A, especially if you are taking a prenatal vitamin. There are 5,000 IU in one serving of Shakeology and the normal recommended amount is 8,000 to 10,000IU. It may or may not be advisable to take your vitamin and drink Shakeology both on the same day.

Again, just check with your doctor so you can have peace of mind. Besides, the official word by Beachbody is, “Shakeology should only be taken by pregnant women and nursing mothers under the direction of their physicians.”
