Wow, I felt like I really BROUGHT IT to Yoga X today. I’m not sure if that’s the right mindset for yoga, but something just sorta clicked and I could tell right away. I even did the crazy OMS at the end. I really tried to focus on my breathing. I’m not sure if that’s what made the difference but it certainly seemed to help. A lot of people that do P90X hate Yoga X, but I think it’s one of the most important workouts.
Anyway, I was able to do the extended reach around and grab triangle pose on both sides (normally I can only do my right side) and did really well with all the stretch exercises during the second half. I have no idea why, but Plough to Shoulder Stand is my favorite one (Happy Baby is a close second). I can’t explain it, but I go into a Zen-like trance whenever I do that one. I can’t quite touch my toes to the floor but it feels fabulous. I wish it was twice as long. I don’t think I can say that for any other P90X move!
I had my teeth cleaned today and was talking to my dental hygienist about running my half-marathon. I was telling her about P90X and she seemed really excited about it because she was thinking about hiring a personal trainer to get into shape. I told that was NOT NECESSARY! I hope she does it. Paying it forward is so fun!
