Day 121: Back in Business

May 19, 2010 By Amanda

Geez, all I can say is THANK GOD RECOVERY WEEK IS OVER. I don’t know why, but last week was pretty difficult for me. Not because the workouts I did were hard, but because I had to take a break from my regular schedule! It’s kinda weird, but after you do Doubles for a while, your body gets used to (addicted to?) the routine and when you start to slow things down you begin to feel a little sluggish.

I understand the importance of giving your body enough time to re-set and recover, but I couldn’t wait to get back at it again. Weird.

I started Monday off with a bang and did my modified version of Insanity’s Plyometric Cardio Circuit. Since I planned on doing chest, Shoulders and Triceps later in the day I didn’t want to work my upper body too much, so during the last circuit in the workout I jump roped while everyone else suffered through Shaun T’s plank exercises. I didn’t feel too bad, cuz I’ll be down there with them near the end of the week I’m sure . . .

BTW–it really freaks me out that two girls hug each other at the end of that workout. Ewwwww . . . I can hardly stand to touch myself after an Insanity workout, let alone someone else in the same condition.

Ab Ripper X has been suprisingly difficult for me this week. I think it’s probably because I’ve been swaping it out with Insanity’s Cardio Abs to change things up and starting Monday I hadn’t done it for 10 days. Well, my abs definitely noticed the change in schedule! My schedule said Cardio Abs today but I decided to do Ab Ripper X just for old times sake. Maybe I’ll keep it in the schedule for the rest of Phase 2 and bring back Cardio Abs again during Phase 3. We’ll see.

Yesterday Plyo X was pretty uneventful. I still find it somewhat difficult but not nearly as much as when I first started P90X. Insanity has also helped a lot with that one. Along with Ab Ripper X today I also did my 3 mile run (half-marathon training schedule starts next week!) and Back and Biceps which is probably one of my least favorite workouts. It just kind of drags on forever.

Speaking of which, I have Yoga X tomorrow. But I’m actually kinda looking forward to it. I feel creaky.
