If you’re thinking about becoming a Beachbody coach you’re probably wondering how in the world you’re going to find time to make this work when it already seems like you have a million things to do.
I totally get it!
When I first became a coach I was working 40+ hours a week as a vet tech and then I had 3 part-time freelancing jobs on the side. I definitely didn’t think I had any extra time to devote to another business.
But I understood the difference between INVESTING my time and SPENDING my time and I knew that if I didn’t make a change I would NEVER have the kind of life that I wanted.
And I was right!
Now, it’s important to know that no two Beachbody coaches are exactly alike. But it’s helpful to see how other people make this type of business work for them. More importantly, the beauty of being your own boss is that you don’t need to do things exactly the same way as everyone else.
You can experiment, tweak, and find out what works best for YOU.
A typical day in the life of a PART-TIME coach is probably going to look different than a typical day in the life of FULL-TIME coach. However the majority of coaches that are getting started are doing this business in addition to working a traditional full-time job and/or managing a family so rest assured that you CAN make this work. But only if you know where and how to FOCUS your time. I see so many coaches wasting their time on non-productive activities (been there done that!!).
But hey…that’s the beauty of having a mentor to steer you in the right direction and say DO THIS…NOT THAT!! 😉
Either way, you’ll notice some common threads among ALL coaches and I think these are important to share with you:
>>> All successful coaches make their health and fitness a top priority.
>>> All successful coaches are focused on helping others do the same.
>>> All successful coaches are mindful about how they spend their time.
There are also 3 “vital behaviors” that all successful coaches focus on DAILY:
1. BE PROOF THE PRODUCTS WORK. If you’re gonna talk the talk, you better walk the walk! This means you’re using Beachbody products in some form or fashion to make your life better. Makes sense right? No…you don’t have to LOVE everything that BB sells (that would be weird) but it’s good to get experience with the different products so you can make the best recommendations.
HOW TO INCORPORATE INTO YOUR DAILY LIFE: I’m willing to guess that if you’re interested in Beachbody coaching making time for health and fitness is already at the top of your to-do list. If not, you’re in the process of making it a priority. This one is a no-brainer!
2. INVITE. INVITE. INVITE. This simply means inviting people into your life which can be difficult if you’re an introvert like me. But it’s really helped me step outside my comfort zone! Adding new friends to your network, making connections, inviting people to join your free challenge groups, inviting people to learn more about what coaching is all about. There are lots of options here! It also means becoming an advocate for health and wellness and encouraging others to empower themselves with fitness and nutrition whether it has anything to do with Beachbody or not! Another way to approach this is to GIVE.GIVE.GIVE. Seriously, this is where things really start to get FUN! 🙂 I hardly ever feel like I’m SELLING or pushing products because when you simply focus on GIVING people are more inclined to come to you once they’re ready to buy.
HOW TO INCORPORATE INTO YOUR DAILY LIFE: How much time do you currently spend on social media? And in exchange for what? A lot of people don’t think they have time to do this business but then they seem to have LOTS of time for Facebook or other forms of social media or binge watching their favorite television series. Don’t get me wrong! There’s a time and a place for self-care, relaxation, and chilling out. But if you TRULY want to use this business to create a better life for you and your family with even MORE time freedom you’ll find plenty of opportunities to get things done.
3. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. This means investing in yourself and your business by feeding your mind DAILY with personal development books, audio, training, obtaining professional certifications, etc. Included in your $15.95 monthly business fee as a Beachbody coach is an online subscription to SUCCESS magazine which is super cool! I also have a list of my favorite personal development resources that I share with my team. Seriously…personal development wasn’t something that was ever mentioned or recommended at my old job but now I seriously can’t imagine my life without it!!
HOW TO INCORPORATE INTO YOUR DAILY LIFE: I’m not a big fan of multi-tasking but sometimes I’ll listen to training calls or audios while I clean the kitchen or fold laundry. I also listen to podcasts and audios when I’m driving in the car. And instead of scrolling through the Facebook news feed before I go to bed (which isn’t good for sleep anyway) I’ll read a couple chapters from my current book.
So what does this all look like on a daily, weekly, or monthly scale??
To put it mildly my “typical day” changed quite a bit once I became a mom. But here is a list of activities I need to do consistently to keep my business up and running:
–check into challenge and team training groups
–answer emails and FB messages
–personal development (read a book, listen to a podcast, training, etc.)
–listen to the Beachbody corporate National Wakeup Call
–create and schedule content for social media posts, blog, challenge groups, team training
–1-on-1 coach mentoring calls
–send out email newsletter/update to coaches and clients
–host a team training call
–attend BB coach summit
–attend Super Saturday events (once every 3 months)
*** A QUESTION TO CONSIDER: If you decided to start your own business, and you knew EVENTUALLY it would give you more time freedom, how much time would you see yourself putting into it daily or weekly NOW? ***
