Some of you already know I’m working on a goal to run 100 miles during the month of March. I’m up to 61 miles so far! Feel free to follow my progress on my Facebook page.
Yesterday I did 11 miles and when I got home I knew my body needed to refuel FAST! So as an experiment I decided to try a new recovery drink and the results were FANTASTIC! As I was drinking it my husband asked if I was ever going to come up for air 🙂
This is the recipe I used:
1/2 scoop Tropical Shakeology
1 scoop P90X Recovery Drink
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup water
Sooooooo good! If you’ve ever tasted an Orange Julius I would compare it to that with just a hint of strawberry flavor. If not for the fact that I had just run 11 miles I probably would have only used 1/2 banana. Also, next time I’m going to slice up the banana and put it in the freezer before my long run or workout so the banana will be slightly frozen when mixed for a creamier texture. I bet that would be even better!
