Hi Lynn, yes it is OK to use Sentinel and Frontline together. Here are some articles on Sentinel that may be useful: http://www.amandakjones.com/tag/sentinel-for-dogs Just make sure they don't receive a bath within 48 hours of applying the Frontline (either before or after).

We have fleas. Both of my Poms have them. I gave them Sentinel on Feb. 1st. We have since bathed them a few times, shaved off their hair, sprayed Zodiac spray (w/ IGR) on everything and cleaned everything thouroughly. I ordered Frontline Plus and Capstar. Can I use the Frontline when it comes in since I've already given them Sentinel at the beginning of the month? Please advise!

Hi Joan, because of the flea's life cycle you may continue to see adult fleas on him after applying Frontline. There are most likely eggs, larvae and pupae in your home that eventually hatch into adult fleas and will jump on your dog. The way Frontline works, it is designed to kill fleas on contact so I would make sure you are applying it correctly--the solution should be applied to the skin, not the fur. Also, he should not receive a bath within 48 hours of application because in order for the product to penetrate the oil glands it must travel through the oils found naturally on his body. If the skin and fur is wet or damp the water will repel the product.

Also, if you have other pets in the house make sure they are also treated. If you're still concerned about adult fleas you might want to consider using something like Capstar. However, if Frontline Plus is applied correctly and used for 3 consecutive months you shouldn't have to worry about fleas. If your dog still appears uncomfortable and continues to scratch you should have him examined by a veterinarian.

My dog is not due for another dose of frontline for a week or so and today I noticed he was scratching like crazy and I combed him and he had fleas so I gave him a bath and combed him, but he is still scratchy, what can I use until his next dose is due.
