About Amanda

Hello! Thanks for checking in. My name is Amanda K. Jones and I currently work full-time as a licensed veterinary technician at a small animal clinic in southeast Michigan. I also run a home-based business that inspires and motivates others to get healthy and fit. Life is good! My husband and I share our home on 3 acres with five cats and two dogs.

Me and Shaun T., the mastermind behind Hip Hop Abs, Insanity, and the Asylum home workout programs.

A few years ago I started doing freelance writing work for several veterinary-related organizations including the American Animal Hospital Association, Nestle Purina, BowTie Press, and Veterinary Technician magazine. Lately I’ve been shifting my focus from writing content for client newsletters and magazines to writing articles and content for my own websites and blogs. I enjoy writing for many different platforms including Hubpages, Infobarrel, and Squidoo. There’s so many topics that I find fascinating . . . but there’s only so many hours in the day!

I think writing is one of the best ways to learn about something. In order to write an article or blog post that is both interesting and informative a lot of reading needs to go into the research process which is something else I love to do. :-)

During the past few years I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the topics of American History, the Constitution of the United States, the Austrian theory of economics, Libertarianism, and Christian Apologetics. Some other “lighter” topics that I find interesting include healthy living, nutrition, fitness, Detroit Tigers baseball, cooking, baking, nutrition, blogging with WordPress, graphic design, Photoshop, and of course–pets! Sometimes the healthy living and fitness don’t always go so well with the cooking and baking . . . but hey, that’s life!

I just recently finished my second round of P90X and my experience with that has grown into a large aspect of this blog as well. In fact, P90X has had such a positive impact on my life that I decided to become an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. It’s been a fun ride so far! My goal is to inspire others to get moving and stay healthy. I can’t put into words the way I felt the first time I compared my P90X before and after photos. I felt like I could conquer the world! I want everyone to feel that way too!

I’m also a Christian, and always put my trust in God. His love fills every nook and cranny of my life! Once your heart accepts the realization that you’ve been saved by grace, it’s like a HUGE weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Talk about LIBERATION!!

As you can tell my interests are quite diverse and I never know what my pesky brain might come up with next. I decided to start this blog as a way to help organize my thoughts as well as educate others.

Thanks again for visiting!
